Assessment Hub Privacy Policy

The Assessment Hub is administered by the Center for the Application of Information Technologies (CAIT) at Western Illinois University ("CAIT," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information in connection with the Assessment Hub SMS notification service.

Information We Collect

When an adult education program submits a testing request on behalf of a student, we collect:
- Student name
- Mobile phone number
- Enrollment/testing request information submitted by the adult education program

How We Use This Information

We use this information solely to:
- Send SMS notifications informing students they have been enrolled in the Assessment Hub
- Provide a link for students to schedule their assessment appointment
- Communicate with students regarding their testing status, as needed

SMS Consent and Opt-Out

Phone numbers are collected and consent to receive SMS messages is obtained by the adult education program at the time of student enrollment. Message and data rates may apply. Students may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP. Students may reply HELP for assistance.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share student phone numbers or personal information with third parties, except:
- With the adult education program that submitted the testing request
- As required by law

Data Security

We take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information collected through the Assessment Hub from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.

Data Retention

Student contact information is retained only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, or as required by Western Illinois University's records retention policies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
